A plain language summary of the FLAURA2 study results: First-line osimertinib treatment with or without chemotherapy in patients with untreated EGFR-mutated advanced NSCLC

This Plain Language Summary of Publication article (PLSP) from Future Oncology, investigated treatment for patients with EGFR-mutated advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Osimertinib is a targeted therapy already approved as the first-line treatment for this type of lung cancer. However, many patients do not receive further treatment after osimertinib stops working. The FLAURA2 study examined whether adding chemotherapy to osimertinib as an initial treatment could delay cancer progression or extend survival.
