Why Plain Language Summaries?

“As a European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI) trained patient expert and someone who has worked with start-ups and academic organisations in EU projects for over 6 years, I regularly see the value of differentiated engagement strategies with different stakeholders. Plain language summaries are a key tool to ensure better patient centricity. I am keen to support patients in their understanding of research and use my experience as an innovation professional and “patient service user to help guide Future Science Group’s plain language summaries initiative”

Biography

Jenny Camaradou is a commercially minded, multi-lingual (German, French, Greek) dual UK/EU national with 18+ years professional experience across policy development, public affairs, strategic partnerships, stakeholder engagement and R&D commercialization. I work in grant funding for start-ups, scale-ups and universities in different areas with particular strengths in DeepTech, HealthTech, Software and Patient Public Involvement. I am a trained EUPATI Patient Expert and have an emerging interest in applied health research.
