Prolonged-release protein substitute for phenylketonuria: a plain summary study in healthy adults

This Plain Language Summary of publication article (PLSP) from Future Rare Diseases outlines findings from a study that explored the benefits of a new prolonged-release amino acid mixture designed as a protein substitute for treating phenylketonuria. The study compared this new mixture to a standard immediate-release amino acid formula to assess how well amino acids were absorbed. A total of 35 healthy adults without phenylketonuria participated in the study.
