This Plain Language Summary of Publication article (PLSP) from Future Neurology examined vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) therapy in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, tracking seizure freedom periods and quality of life over three years. Researchers analyzed how many patients achieved at least one year without seizures and whether longer seizure-free periods improved their quality of life. This was one of the first large real-world studies to explore the relationship between sustained seizure freedom and patient wellbeing following VNS treatment.
