Open Pharma and PFMD public consultations on plain language summaries of publications

Two new initiatives on plain language summaries of publications are now inviting public consultation.

Open Pharma recommendations for multi-stakeholder plain language summaries

Open Pharma is the multi-sponsor collaborative project aiming to improve the pharma publications model by connecting pharma with innovations in publishing to increase transparency and access to research outputs. The Open Pharma Accessibility workstream has drafted recommendations for the ‘minimum standard’ for multi-stakeholder plain language summaries of publications. Find out more below. The deadline for feedback is 31 March 2021.

Plain language summaries (PLS) of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations: practical ‘How-To’ Guide for multi-stakeholder co-creation

Patient Focused Medicines Development (PFMD) aims to transform the way in which we understand, engage, and partner with patients globally in the design and development of research and medicines by focusing on unmet patient needs. A comprehensive guide for Plain Language Summaries (PLS) of peer-reviewed publications and conferences presentations is now in the last stages of its co-creation process. PFMD are seeking final feedback and validation.
